Sunset was born on a mild early Fall day on September, 29, 2007.  Her mother and father were Carrie and Red.  Carrie, a Golden Retriever, was Sunshine Acres' social butterfly and was known to stand on her back feet next to someone she was wanting to meet and wait there without touching the person until they acknowledged her.  She had a true love of people and has always had a tender touch.  Red was the stout hearted Irish Setter that has shown great devotion, is witty, and charming.  He presents a regal and proud look, but is really a big ham on the inside.

Sunset had six brothers and was the only girl.  Since the litter was half Golden and half Irish, Sunset was a F1 hybrid which is commonly called the Irish Retriever.  Irish Retrievers are known for their beautiful coats, longevity, and wonderful natures.

From about 4 weeks, we could see that Sunset was intelligent.  At about 6 weeks, we could see that she was tender.  She was born with a bronze colored coat and steadily became a deep red with long feathering.  Sunset was the type that preferred to walk beside us off leash rather than with it.  Whenever we wlk somewhere where she must have a leash, she will gently hold the leash in her mouth and walk along with us.

Anyway, Sunset grew into a beautiful Irish Retriever and has joined the Sunshine Acres team of raising the Irish Goldendoodle.  The Irish Goldendoodle is half Poodle, a quarter Golden, and a quarter Irish.  This is one of the most healthy types of an F1 Hybrid that can be raised and Sunset gives the Irish Goldendoodle a good start by being a healthy dog herself.
